So there I was, standing at the end of the bed in my room when Nathan, still out of sight in the bathroom, declared that he was sad. Then he walked into the bedroom, looked at me and said, "You hurt my heart!" I was stunned and not quite sure I heard correctly I asked, "What?" he then said, "Daddy, you hurt my heart!" I quickly attempted to discover what I had done wrong as I had been only an observer to his situation at this point. But it soon became clear he was expressing to me his dissatisfaction at my lack of involvement. To which he then learned of his dissatisfaction of my involvement.

You Hurt My Heart
Tonight at bedtime, my lil' buddy (Nathan) was not wanting to go to bed. He was just wondering the house and avoiding doing anything that would lead him closer to bed. Finally, mom had him cornered in his bedroom and stripped him to his skivvies and instructed him to go to the bathroom, get his pj's on and get in bed. He walked past me heading to the bathroom, not at all happy about this. He began doing quite a good job calmly expressing verbally his displeasure about his situation and how his mother was not being fair. Rachael brought his pj's in and set them on the bed and asked that I get him dressed and send him to bed. Then for some unknown reason he turned on me.
